Mis-en-Scene

Principal photography commenced on September 20, 1993.The lead offscreen talent had all worked with Tarantino on Reservoir Dogscinematographer Andrzej SekuĊ‚afilm editor Sally Menkeproduction designer David Wasco, and costume designer Betsy Heimann. According to Tarantino, "[W]e had $8 million. I wanted it to look like a $20–25 million movie. I wanted it to look like an epic. It's an epic in everything—in invention, in ambition, in length, in scope, in everything except the price tag. "The film, he says, was shot "on 50 ASA film stock, which is the slowest stock they make. The reason we use it is that it creates an almost no-grain image, it's lustrous. It's the closest thing we have to 50s Technicolor. "The largest chunk of the budget—$150,000—went to creating the Jack Rabbit Slim's set. It was built in a Culver City warehouse, where it was joined by several other sets as well as the film's production offices. The diner sequence was shot on location in Hawthorne at the Hawthorne Grill, known for its Googie architecture. For the costumes, Tarantino took his inspiration from French director Jean-Pierre Melville, who believed that the clothes his characters wore were their symbolic suits of armor. Tarantino cast himself in a modest-sized role as he had in Reservoir Dogs. One of his pop totems, Fruit Brute, a long-discontinued General Mills cereal, also returned from the earlier film. The shoot wrapped on November 30. Before Pulp Fiction's premiere, Tarantino convinced Avary to forfeit his agreed-on co-writing credit and accept a "story by" credit, so the line "Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino" could be used in advertising and onscreen.

No film score was composed for Pulp Fiction; Quentin Tarantino instead used an eclectic assortment of surf musicrock and rollsoul, and pop songs. Dick Dale's rendition of "Misirlou" plays during the opening credits. Tarantino chose surf music as the basic musical style for the film, but not, he insists, because of its association with surfing culture: "To me it just sounds like rock and roll, even Morricone music. It sounds like rock and roll spaghetti Western music." Some of the songs were suggested to Tarantino by his friends Chuck Kelley and Laura Lovelace, who were credited as music consultants. Lovelace also appeared in the film as Laura, a waitress; she reprises the role in Jackie Brown.

Here we can see signs of bad adds for coffee. In the top photo named black and white but with the idea of putting a new coffee on the market this is a very bad add. This does not sale anyone to drink the coffee. Here in the second photo,I would say this is a good add. The way the photo of the coffee makes me want to drink this coffee, also The way the cups are set on the wood table, the color of the table works with what you see in the cup. They over power you with the look of the coffee and not the name are to much info.

Fine Art
I like this art work because it gives off a very pleasing affect. The colors are bright but soft to the eye. The way the light hits the side walk makes you think it is brick but very wet. The colors that are used in the trees give the idea that we are in the fall. The green and yellow on the ground and also a touch of orange gives another hint of fall. The art work gives you that this is a very long walk way into a very deep park. the deeper you look into the back ground a single line gives us the idea of trees also light poles. This is romantic and it makes you want to at it more. The intensity is bold with color and with the light blue in the background makes it soft. The use of the dark blue gives you the idea that it could be very cold so besides the rain the cold is why the couple are walking close together.

Visceral Response

This is the Mississippi River bridge. This is the bridge that I cross, when I drive home to Jackson,Miss. Like you this bridge has a very deep meaning in my life. When I'm about 60 miles are less from seeing it,there is a build up in side me of relief from all the things I have had to bare alone. In some ways for me it's like being born again. There is no greater bridge in this World for me.There has been times that I just cried all the way across it and then said thank you Lord for bringing me home again. The power off the water below it is breath taking. The massive steal joined together in very nice clean lines, she lift's up her head to the sky with right angles, craves, squares and then her crown is the American flag. The intensity it makes me feel harms my soul. The great pillars that reach down into the Mississippi river to support gives value to her over all being. This is much more than metal and concrete. This is apart of my being, food to my soul, joy when I'm down, hope when all hope is gone. When all your love one's have gone on and home is not the same, here stands this great Lady The Mississippi River bridge.
